This CLM is all about encouraging students to look around the spaces they live in, see if there is a ‘gap’ and then design a bespoke piece of furniture that they could build to meet a need or fill a space.
The students will follow a design process including; concept sketches, component drawing, cutting sheets, costing spreadsheets and then making a prototype. (Costs usually prohibit making a full scale model of their design). The final step will be an evaluation or reflection on their design and build.
