A warm welcome to Ellesmere College or Te Kāreti o Waihora (the College of Waihora).

We are a friendly, family-focused school, with a caring, inclusive culture. Our aim is to have engaged students who are enabled to excel.
Our core values are respect, integrity, success and empathy (RISE), all qualities that support high academic achievement and promote personal excellence.
Ellesmere College is a co-educational, state funded school for students in Year 7 (11 years old) through to Year 13 (18 years old).

Located in Leeston, a rural town with a population of 1700, we enjoy a scenic farming landscape. Thirty kilometres from Christchurch, we benefit from easy access to urban facilities and the community strengths of our rural environment.
